Our team of credentialed special education clinicians are dedicated to their students and the ASM Special Education Team! Our leadership team has high expectations for our staff; we’re constantly pushing ourselves to research best practices and update our systems to provide students the best service possible. Our providers are passionate about this innovation, too; they consistently come back to us year after year. We pride ourselves on the expertise and diversity of our staff, of which over 50% are bilingual. We love what we do, and we look forward to partnering with you!
OUR STORY
WE KNOW THAT AN EXCELLENT EDUCATION CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE
Adriana San Millan was born in Mexico city and moved to the United States for her education when she was 12 years old. She entered the 6th grade in Los Angeles, CA , where she was raised, and went on to complete a Master's Degree in Cross-Categorical Special Education. She began working as a Special Education Teacher, and served as the Director of Special Education for two school districts.
After many years of teaching and observing the positive impact a school psychologist can have on a student's life, Adriana obtained her master's degree in school psychology, obtained her Administration credential, and founded the ASM Special Education Services Agency in 2012.
ASM Special Education Services has grown to provide types of numerous Special Education Related Services and Evaluations. As a bilingual Hispanic school psychologist, Adriana takes pride in hiring staff members from minority groups and providing many forms of services and evaluations in Spanish.

CEO, Lead School Psychologist
Adriana San Millan is a Hispanic Bilingual School Psychologist and Special Educator with almost two decades of experience supporting California students. Prior to founding ASM Special Education Services in 2012, Adriana worked as a Special Education Teacher, and then as the Special Education Director for two districts. She possesses three California Credentials: School Psychologist, Special Educator and Administrator. Adriana San Millan is also the author of the book: Introduction to Understanding Special Education "So, my child has what?" Adriana lives in Morgan Hill, CA with her husband and daughter and enjoys dancing and swimming in her free time.

ANDREW CUMMINGS
Director of Business Operations
Andrew Cummings earned his Bachelors at the University of California, Berkeley where he studied theater, performance studies, and molecular and cellular biology. He is a former public school teacher and knows how hard school staff members work to make a difference in their students' lives. Accordingly, the Adriana San Millan business team is dedicated to partnering with our schools in ways that reduce stress and allow them more time to focus on students. Andrew has over thirteen years of experience in nonprofit management and specializes in project management, team building, and systems innovation. Andrew lives in Morgan Hill with his two dogs and enjoys volunteering for the local high school theater program, which he has directed for the last seven years.
KEL WHISNER
Chief Financial Officer
Kel Whisner joined the ASM leadership team in 2018. He is a certified trainer in Crisis Prevention through CPI and has been trained in ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule). Kel co-founded Strong and Healthy Minds, a non-profit donating supplies to children with disabilities, offering general education mental health counseling, and supporting special education tools and devices. He earned a BS in Operations Management from Arizona State University, a Master's in Business Administration, and is currently completing a Master's Degree in School Psychology. Prior to joining ASM Special Education services, Kel held Director positions with multiple technology companies.

MARIE MCMANUS HERNANDEZ
Speech Language Pathologist
Marie holds a B.S. in Speech Language Pathology from Texas Woman's University, and an MS in Speech Language Pathology with a certification in Bilingual Speech Language Pathology from University of Texas. In Marie’s 15 years as a therapist she has worked in many environments: schools, hospice, home health, EI, private/outpatient clinic, hospital and SNF. Marie specializes in treatment and assessment of bilingual populations, feeding and dysphagia, Apraxia of Speech, and cognition. Marie was born and raised in Dallas, TX as a Cowboy’s fan and currently resides in Gilroy, CA with her husband and 2 ½ children. They enjoy outdoor activities, sports, cooking, reading, traveling, and learning new things.
